영화 {The Stupids}. Tom Arnold 주연의 1996년도 코미디 영화. 전형적인 미국식 코미디물이다.
Mr.Stupid에게는 바보 아내와 바보 아들/딸이 있지만, 연기나 역할 모두에서 이 영화를 도처에서 빛나게 하는 유일한 인물은 오직 바보 아빠인 Mr. Stanley Stupid 뿐이다.
줄거리는
...아침마다 마을에서 발생하는 "쓰레기 도난사건"의 배후를 추적하던 스탠리 스투피드는 마침내 모든 우편물을 가로채려는 ("return to senders") 정체불명의 Mr.Senders의 우주적 음모를 파악하고 그로부터 지구를 구한다....
플라네타리움에서 (사람들이 "Lord"로 잘못 알고 있는) 신을 만나 신의 진짜 이름이 "Lloyd"라는 것을 발견한다거나, 방송에 출연해 "본인이 본인의 진짜 할아버지"임을 증명하는 장면 (사실은 1948년도의 노래에서 따온 것)은 이 영화의 백미.

Many, many years ago, when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, and soon they too were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law and really changed my life,
Now my daughter was my mother, cause she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad,
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.
Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run,
and he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,
because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.
Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild,
and every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild,
cause now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
as husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
it sounds funny I know but it really is so,
oh, I'm my own grandpa
