데이빗 보위는 내가 그리 좋아하는 가수는 아니지만, 중학생 시절 들은 그의 1969년 작 {스페이스 오디티, Space Oddity} 예나 지금이나 좋아한다.

데이빗 보위 이후 정말 많은 리메이크가 있지만,

ISS 우주정거장 선장인 진짜 우주비행사 (Astronaut Chris Hadfield)가 진짜 우주에서 2013년에 리메이크한 이 버전을 나는 제일로 친다.

대 '스타'지만 정작 우주엔 못 가본 데이빗 보위도 좋아했다고.

우주비행사들이 좋아하는 노래로 늘 손꼽히는 곡이긴 한데, 원 가사는 "우주선 고장으로 우주미아 된 상황"이라는 사실상 우주비행사들이 가장 생각하고 싶지 않는 상황이란게 아이러니. 심지어 1969년 아폴로 11호 달착륙 중계 때 BBC는 이 노래를 트는 만행을 저지르기도 했다. 아폴로 13호라면 또 모르겠다만.

'우주로 표류하는' 불길한 원 가사를 개사해 해드필드는 '지구로 복귀'하는 내용으로 고쳐 부른다.
