Blessed art Thou O Lord, teach me Thy statutes.
The choir of the saints has found the fountain of life and the door of Paradise. May I also find
the way through repentance, I am a lost sheep, call me up to Thee, O Savior, and save me.

Thou who did fashion me of old out of nothingness, and with Thine Image Divine did honor me;
But because of transgressions of Thy commandments, did return me again to the earth from
whence I was taken; lead me back to be refashioned into that ancient beauty of Thy likeness.

I am the image of Thy unutterable glory, though I bear the scars of my stumblings. Have
compassion upon me, the works of Thy hands, O sovereign Lord, and cleanse me through Thy

Paradise.

Give rest, O God … to the souls of Thy servants, and appoint for them a place in Paradise; where
the choirs of the saints, O Lord, and the just will shine forth like stars; to Thy servants that are
sleeping now give rest, overlooking all their offenses.

The triune radiance of the One Godhead with reverent songs acclaiming: let us cry; Holy art
Thou, O eternal Father, and Son also eternal, and Spirit Divine; shine with Thy light on us who
with faith adore Thee, and from the fire eternal rescue us.

Hail, O gracious Lady, who in the flesh bears God for the salvation of all; and through whom the
human race has found salvation; through Thee may we find Paradise, Theotokos, our Lady pure

1. Εὐλογητὸς εἶ, Κύριε, δίδαξόν με τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
Τῶν Ἀγγέλων ὁ δῆμος, κατεπλάγη ὁρῶν σε, ἐν νεκροῖς λογισθέντα, τοῦ θανάτου δὲ Σωτήρ, τὴν ἰσχὺν καθελόντα, καὶ σὺν ἑαυτῷ τὸν Ἀδὰμ ἐγείραντα, καὶ ἐξ ᾍδου πάντας ἐλευθερώσαντα.
2. Εὐλογητὸς εἶ, Κύριε, δίδαξόν με τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
Τὶ τὰ μύρα, συμπαθῶς τοῖς δάκρυσιν, ὦ Μαθήτριαι κιρνᾶτε; ὁ ἀστράπτων ἐν τῷ τάφῳ Ἄγγελος, προσεφθέγγετο ταῖς Μυροφόροις· Ἴδετε ὑμεῖς τὸν τάφον καὶ ᾔσθητε· ὁ Σωτὴρ γὰρ ἐξανέστη τοῦ μνήματος.

Ζωοδότην τεκοῦσα, ἐλυτρώσω Παρθένε, τὸν Ἀδὰμ ἁμαρτίας, χαρμονὴν δὲ τῇ Εὔᾳ, ἀντὶ λύπης παρέσχες, ῥεύσαντα ζωῆς, ἴθυνε πρὸς ταύτην δέ, ὁ ἐκ σοῦ σαρκωθείς Θεὸς καὶ ἄνθρωπος.

The assembly of angels was amazed, beholding Thee, a man among the dead, yet O Saviour destroying the stronghold of death, and with Thyself raising up Adam, and freeing all from Hades.
2. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy statutes.
‘Why mingle ye myrrh with tears of pity, O ye women disciples?’ Thus the radiant angel within the tomb addressed the myrrh-bearing women. ‘Behold the tomb and understand, for the Saviour has risen from the tomb.’
3. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy statutes.
Very early the myrrh-bearing women hastened, unto thy tomb, lamenting. But the angel stood before them and said: ‘The time for lamentation is passed! Weep not! But tell of the resurrection to the apostles.’
4. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy statutes.
The myrrh-bearing women, with myrrh came to Thy tomb, O Saviour, made ready. But the angel addressed them saying, ‘Why seek ye the living among the dead? For as God He is risen from the tomb!’
5. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit:
Let us all worship the Father, and His Son, and the Holy Spirit; the Holy Trinity, one in essence; crying with the Seraphim: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O Lord.
6. Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
In bringing for the Giver of Life, thou hast delivered Adam from Sin, O Virgin, and hast brought joy to Eve instead of sorrow. Man thus fallen from life, hath thereunto been restored by Him who of thee was incarnate, both God and man.
